Live review Bill Ham
Bill Ham plays at The 6th street Grill !
I had the honor of getting to run sound for a man called "one of the best Texas guitarist today Bill Ham !" Bill was like a steam roller no stage , plowing over 3 full sets on the evening I caught him at the Grill !Bill Ham played of a full complement of music at the Grill , from Chick Korea to Little Richard and anything in between on this night . The house was packed and the joint was jumping and Bill was as hot as the side walk in FtWorth in July . That stage was smoking! As for Bill he has been a long time member of the Texas music scene. Bill came from the bustling Fort Worth music circuit of the 60' s and was the guitarist , for the band, The Nomads, they released a couple of 45s between 1965 and 1966. Two years later, while attending North Texas University, he cut an LP with his younger brother Warren Ham, bassist David Hungate (later of Toto fame) and Steve Hill under the band name Israfel.
(Bill Ham subsequently went to LA to join The Yellow Payges which
released several 45s and an LP, Volume 1 [Uni 73045], between '67 and '70.)
