Live Venues
Up from the ashes
Fort Worth is in the mist of reconstructing
itself into a megatropolis of giant cranes, chain link
fences, and black plastic. Iron beams assend skyward
and new giant holes appear every day . One must stop and ponder
the Tower of Babble and what came of this wonder. In the mean
time, music venues are falling left and right. Some rising up
from the ashes that you might want to check out are
The Blue Grotto off University
past 7th St. playing local small performers in a very itimate
atmosphere. Next on our tour is Fred's cafe. Fred's
is now playing live music on the paito. Keep your eye on
this infamous hang out for big changes are blowing in the wind.
The fun does not stop there. Looking for even more variety?
The family scene is happening over at Central market Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday nights from 6-9 with local bands especially Thursday night
which is sponsored by ftworth weekly. For the heavier side of
Cowtown, check out Lola's, always eclectic and on the edge. One
of the cities oldest and most widely reveared road houses
J&J Blues Bar has been a main stay of the Fort Worth music scene
for over 20 years providing northTexas with some of the finest Blues
artists in the nation. The bar is at 937 Woodward.
Though it may seem to be
crumbling, like the phoenix the Fort Worth music scene is alive and
well.
