Speakeasy and Downward @ Club Indigo- Friday, September 10

"Downward fucking rocks!"

    Although I was there to see Downward, I got there just in time to see Speakeasy, and they kicked ass! They were speed/thrash metal all about the love- headbanging like motherfuckers! These guys were rocking out more than the audience, head-banging like crazy! And I was headbanging along with them, from "Let's Shag" through their "slow one" (yeah, right), all the way through to "Chin Fuck." Very bad-ass.
    I thought Speakeasy kicked ass,  but when Downward took the stage, they blew my mind! From the first few moments, I could tell I was going to love these guys. They started rocking and they didn't stop, only pausing a couple of times between songs. These guys had energy (headbanging and jumping around like motherfuckers), charisma (shouting out and pointing to people they knew in the crowd), stage presence (the guitarists and bassist struck poses through some amazing riffs, and the vocalist was swinging the mic), and above all- hard, heavy music! I was headbanging and stomping all over the place, and I wasn't the only one. These guys are amazing! This is why I got into the music biz to begin with- to rock out to some kick ass bands! Only D/FW could produce such great metal! Look out for them, and go to one of their shows- you won't be disappointed!
